Scientific study by Stanford University (USA), was published in the scientific journal PLoS Biology, by professors John PA Ioannidis, Kevin W. Boyack and Jeroen Baas. Conducted scientific study was on the scientific citation of about 160,000 of the world's most cited scientists in all disciplines, and observed papers throughout the scientist's career until the end of 2019. The study used data from the Scopus database, which classifies scientists into 22 fields and 76 branches, and analyzes citations in the period 1996-2019.
